How nice to be an angel

How nice to be an angel (illustration)
How nice to be an angel
Flitting about the sky
Without a thought of who or when
Or how or if or why
No need to earn a living
No need to fret or doubt
Just being wonderful each day
And flitting all about
And, oh, God’s got a message, an
Illuminating scroll
So off you flit, to jubilate
Some lucky mortal soul
Then back up to the skies to strum
Your harp and sing awhile
In praise of All and Everything
Because it makes you smile
How God is just so good, and has
The whole thing so well-planned:
The blest go up to Heaven, while
The Devil gets the damned
How neat. How nice. Now, flit a bit
Around the sky and sing
How nice to be an angel
Flitting on the wing!
