What color is your story/novel?

Instructions

Paste the text of your story (or novel) into the text box below, and click the Colors button. (Your story isn’t sent to our server, or anywhere else. The analysis is all done by a script running in your own browser.)

This tool looks for color words in your story, adds up how often they appear, and groups them by 16 basic color types (red, blue, green, yellow, purple, orange, pink, brown, black, grey, white, light, dark, silver, gold, and multicolored). Some color words have double meanings, so if you have a lot of “buff” heroes, or your story is about the navy, or your characters eat a lot of chocolate, it will skew the results. But this is not meant to be scientific!
